.uk Domain Names by radikls web design dorset

.uk Domain Names

Currently the shorter, sharper .uk domain can only be registered to you if you own the .co.uk domain name, however, from 1st July 2019 the .uk version of your domain name will be available for anyone to buy. This opens up the possibility of somebody purchasing the .uk version of your website domain and potentially using it for malicious reasons.

We want to ensure that all of our valued customers have the opportunity to purchase their .uk domain name, allowing your brand to be protected, so we are offering it at a special price of £30 + VAT for 2 years (normally £40 + VAT). We can redirect the .uk domain name to your .co.uk website however you will also have the freedom to use it as your main website and e-mail address if you wish.

Responsive websites boost business by radikls web design dorset

Responsive websites boost business

It seems the best approach for your business this New Year is to make your website ‘responsive’. Have you looked at your site on a tablet and different smart phones? If your site is correctly sized, and provides an optimal viewing experience with minimum scrolling, more customers will engage with your content. With a distinct audience shift to mobile browsing, search engines are placing responsive sites higher.

Radikls’ clients, weathervanes-direct.co.uk, have noticed an increase in customer activity with statistics that 48% of enquiries came through their new responsive website design.

Here at Radikls we love to work with successful small businesses to create websites that have that personal touch. Royal Bay’s New Website Boosts Traffic by 20% by radikls web design dorset

Royal Bay’s New Website Boosts Traffic by 20%

We recently launched the assured retirement living provider Royal Bay Care Homes’ new website with the effect of increasing click-throughs and boosting the online visibility of their portfolio. So far we have not only improved the company’s overall traffic by 20% but enhanced the visibility of Royal Bay’s regional estates. The Radikls team did this by modernising their main website to make it more user-friendly and by using newer source codes to ensure that it is simpler and easier to maintain. More importantly, we gave each of the company’s care homes its own domain name and more location friendly meta-titles so that they ranked high in regional searches.

Is Your Website Responsive? by radikls web design dorset

Is Your Website Responsive?

In a recent survey by market research group TNS, it was found that 7 out of 10 people in the UK now own a smartphone. Whilst the biggest demographic of smartphone users are those aged between 25 and 30, it is estimated that more than half those aged between 54 and 65 also own smartphones. These are significant figures and show that more and more of us are relying on internet access for routine activities such as shopping, searching for local products and services, and finding directions or other location-based information.

Radikls acquire Siteweave by radikls web design dorset

Radikls acquire Siteweave

We are excited to announce that we have just taken over the Portsmouth based website design company Siteweave www.siteweave.net. The company had been running for 12 years when the owners made the decision to retire. They had built up a healthy portfolio of clients over the time, including the haulage fleet management company Tructyre. Radikls have already begun work on designing Tructyre a new website in partnership with their marketing team who are looking to redefine the company with a new unique selling point. They are now changing their focus away from repair contracts and towards preventative maintenance of vehicles. This means that they are wanting to promote a system whereby vehicles are checked regularly for potential parts failure and thereby avoid the additional costs of roadside repairs and recovery. This not only reduces overall fleet costs but can also improve efficiency and most importantly vehicle safety. Brake failure, for example, is a common cause of collisions involving commercial vehicles, so it’s wise to have fleets regularly checked.

Yurt Success in the First Year by radikls web design dorset

Yurt Success in the First Year

As more holiday makers are looking for the luxury end of camping, Mark and Caryl Ralph of Caalm Camp in Shaftesbury have found they have hit a niche market. Setting up last Spring, a lot of time was spent sourcing and trying out the best Yurts for our UK climate, and then fitting them out with luxury furnishings including cosy wood burners. None of the usual dash to a drafty toilet block as the ‘facilities’ are equally luxurious private wet rooms with under floor heating, and a large lounge come function/ meeting room. Bookings are on the increase and the website is marketed and monitored by Tony Raybould of Radikls.com.
